Linux system administrator (Freelance / Remote)

Assignment description

For our client we are looking for a Linux system administrator. The role is remote but preferred location is time zone +/- 1 hour from Sweden. You will be working closely with another senior colleague who has similar expertise. Your small team willl be a part of bigger delivery of the client’s Product Development Services towards market-leading telecom company.

The team is designing and building a service with Foreman and Puppet to provision, configure and maintain a larger number of hosts with varying requirements. Foreman is a complete lifecycle management tool for physical and virtual servers. It gives system administrators the power to easily automate repetitive tasks, quickly deploy applications, and proactively manage servers, on-premise or in the cloud. You will use Puppet in order to make infrastructure actionable, scalable and intelligent.

Requirements

• Linux system administration skills – especially tuning and debugging installations of RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu and SuSE, possibly others
• Scripting skills (Python, possibly Ruby) – creating automation scripts towards multiple service APIs
• Self-driven
• Prototyping/discovery
• Knowledge of Foreman and/or Puppet is a plus
