About Computerome

Computerome is a High-Performance Computing (HPC) facility specialized in Life Science. Users include research groups from all Danish universities and large international research consortia as well as users from public health care sectors and industry. They all benefit from the fast, flexible and secure infrastructure, and the ability to combine different types of sensitive data for computational analysis. Computerome 2.0 is physically located at the DTU Risø campus and managed by a strong team of specialists working at DTU Lyngby.

Computerome 2.0 consists of a large Linux cluster and a 16 PB file system, combined with a custom built secure Cloud environment to accommodate sensitive data handling.

The work environment is informal and characterized by a positive pioneer spirit.

Job description

We are looking for two System Administrators to expand our operations team. The ideal candidates are curious of nature, have strong problem-solving skills and pride themselves in excellent customer service. In our team, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference working on tasks related to the newest technology.

The system administrators’ responsibilities are to ensure a stable and secure operation at all times of the supercomputer, network, backup, cloud and various database solutions. Part of the job is also to solve 2nd level incidents and requests from the users.

Required qualifications include:

  • Linux administration experience, perhaps combined with Windows administration experience
  • Basic networking skills
  • Experience with automation and scripting (mainly bash or Python)
  • Basic knowledge about security and monitoring
  • User management (LDAP)
  • Basic knowledge about hardware management
  • Experience in virtualization (mainly VMware)
  • Basic knowledge about logging
  • Proven experience, ability and eagerness to help end users at all levels
  • Proficiency in English, spoken and written

It is an advantage if you also have experience in all or some of the following areas:

  • VMware vRealize Automation
  • Powershell scripting
  • Active Directory
  • Storage
  • Containers (Dockers, Kubernetes)

Salary and appointment terms

Terms of appointment and payment according to the Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC) or any other relevant agreement.
