We are looking for a Web Developer who is experienced in working with web and ecommerce technology in the .NET and Azure ecosystems and able to be the key person in the development of a new online presence for the Weilbach Group in a new development team.

Challenge

We are founding a new development team to take responsibility for the systems, which support the business. We are looking for someone who will bring into the team the skills and experience needed to architect and build new websites, ecommerce systems and online solutions for the Weilbach Group.

The construction and ongoing development of the group’s websites will be the primary responsibility of the role but it will also involve work with other team members, other teams and external developers and consultants, on backend systems that support end-user accounts and administration.

You will be located in Kgs. Lyngby at the Weilbach Group main office and will be part of the Business System Team which have members located in both Kgs. Lyngby Denmark and Sheffield, UK.

Technology

The majority of the development that we do uses Microsoft .NET and Azure Cloud technologies and we would not want to unnecessarily diverge from that stack.

We aim to have a ‘headless’ CMS solution, using some of the following types of technology: Umbraco, Saleor, clerk.io, React, Fastly a.o.

Other existing systems that fall under the responsibility of the team use the following technologies: ASP.NET Core MVC 3.1; Azure Storage (Blob, Table); Azure SQL; Azure infrastructure services (Front Door, CDN, etc.).

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with strong web development skills who can take responsibility for the Weilbach Group websites and contribute to other projects within the Business Systems team. This will require broad skills in web design, ecommerce and both front-end and back-end development. Being able to show evidence of working with high-level specifications to discover and define detailed requirements in previous roles is valuable.

In addition, the ability to shape and drive development processes within the overall company practices – for example, in the area of DevOps and CI/CD for web systems – will be favourable. Underpinning these skills is the need for excellent communication, team-working and inter-personal skills.

Company & Environment

Weilbach was founded in 1755 but has undergone a transformation over the past years based on our strategy “Digital and International”.  Hence, in addition to traditional nautical charts and books, we now focus on developing and selling nautical data and cutting-edge software to the shipping, hydrographic and defence industry globally. In total, we are 50 staff, comprising the HQ in Denmark and subsidiaries in the UK, Singapore, Egypt and Canada.

We have a strong understanding of what is needed to produce good software. We are large enough to have interesting and challenging projects but small enough to understand the individuals that work for us and the value and contribution they make. This shows in the company culture – we invest in our office and equipment to provide a pleasant working environment. Also, we support our employees by providing flexible working hours and we encourage continuous learning to inspire people.

We offer a position in a company with an informal atmosphere, short decision-making processes and generally good conditions, i.a. 37.5 hours weekly, including lunch break with lunch arrangement, media package, health insurance etc. We are located in brand new offices in Lyngby and you will be working with colleagues across our organization and will have the occasional opportunity to travel to our other offices.
